How to join BTR

Joining BTR is simple, transparent and designed to help you decide whether the group is right for you.

There’s no pressure to commit. The best way to understand BTR is to come along, meet our members and experience it for yourself.

We encourage visitors to take their time, ask questions, and get a genuine feel for how we work before making a decision.

Who BTR is for

BTR is designed for local business owners and professionals who value relationships, consistency and long-term growth.

Our members typically include:

  • Business owners

  • Independent professionals

  • Established and growing local businesses

  • Organisations committed to collaboration and community

All industries and professions are welcome, but we can only accept one member from each. We look for people who are open, engaged and willing to contribute.

Joining BTR follows a simple, human process

1. Book a free visit or two

Get in touch and arrange to attend a BTR meeting as our guest.

2. Attend a meeting

Come along, meet our members and experience how we work in practice.

3. Get to know the community

Take part in conversations, learn about other businesses, and see how relationships develop over time.

4. Apply for membership (if that’s what you decide)

If BTR feels right for you, you can apply to join. We’re a non-profit community with a £40 admin fee for new joiners then £30 per month to cover costs – it couldn’t be simpler.

5. Onboarding

We’ll guide you through becoming a full member and introducing your business to the group.

There is no rush at any stage – the process is designed to feel natural and unpressured.

What to expect at a meeting

A typical BTR meeting is relaxed, structured and welcoming.

You can expect:

  • A friendly arrival and informal conversation over coffee.

  • Short introductions from each attendee.

  • A delicious breakfast buffet of continental and full English favourites.

  • A member talk or business insight from a guest speaker.

  • Open discussion and updates.

  • Time to connect and build relationships naturally.

We meet on the first and third Thursday of every month, from 06:45 to 08:30, to minimise impact on the working day.

There is no selling. Conversations are genuine, practical and focused on understanding and supporting one another.

Most importantly, you are welcome simply to observe at first if that feels more comfortable.

Membership and expectations

BTR works best when members are engaged, consistent and respectfully supportive of each another.

Members are expected to:

  • Attend meetings regularly where possible.

  • Contribute to conversations and community activity.

  • Build relationships over time.

  • Support fellow members through referrals and collaboration.

In return, members gain access to a trusted network of local professionals who actively work together to share opportunities and insight.

Membership is based on mutual trust, professionalism and long-term participation.
